- The DCRB is the criminal intelligence and information agency of the district of Police and an integral part of the crime-criminal information the state and the country.
- Compilation, maintenance, updating of criminal records and crime- criminal information system
- Maintain the computer centre in district and regularly update the data pertaining to crime-criminal information system (CCIS).
- Bureau advises investigating officers in the investigation of cases and furnishes classified information to them and superior officers.
- Collection of information and intelligence form all Police wings (Detective, L&O, Traffic, and Women, Police stations)

- Preparation of weekly crime and occurrence sheets and maintain officers visiting notes.

- Corresponding on Inspection notes, furlough/Parole petitions, UT prisoners, Detail reports of special grave cases, weekly dairies and Itinerary reports.
